Find out how to adopt a pet quick & easy
How do I adopt a pet?
- After scrolling through the MSPR pets and you see a pet you like, you can either immediately fill out an adoption application by clicking here or if you have any further questions about that particular pet you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- If you would like us to make some recommendations for you, for instance if you are looking for a medium-sized dog who is good with kids and other dogs, please contact us at email@example.com and we will help find the best match for you and your family.
Are there any adoption requirements?
As we are a foster-based rescue, all MSPR pets are located in foster homes and will require special meeting arrangements. We will require you to fill out an adoption application as well as set up a home check prior to moving forward with a meet and greet. Once you are approved, we will move forward with setting up a meet and greet and we will do our best to accommodate you with a place and time most convenient for you.
Where are the adoptable pets located?
As MSPR is a foster-based animal rescue, all our adoptable pets are located in foster homes and will require special arrangements, which we will set up in a timely manner after your adoption application has been approved.
What will my new pet come with?
Through MSPR, all pets will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. We also provide 24/7 adoption support. Although, we place our pets in homes that we think will be “furever”, we also understand that life does happen. In case you can no longer keep your pet or the adoption does not work out, we require that the pet is brought back to Mendo Shelter Pets Rescue and we are happy to do so.
How much is the adoption fee?
Through the MSPR, the dog adoption fee is $120 and the cat adoption fee is $50. If a pet is fully or partially sponsored (which means a kind community member paid for that pet’s adoption fee), they will be featured on our Sponsored Pets page.
